Some people think that parrot can speak like human beings because of its thick and long tongue. But it is wrong as eagle and hawk also have thick and long tongue but they cannot speak like human beings.
On the contrary myna is able to speak like human beings without having thick and long tongue. Actually, parrot and myna are very intelligent birds therefore they can imitate the human voice very easily. The sounds produced by their mouth resemble the sound of human being because of the slow mechanism of their speech and hearing. Parrot and myna first notice the lip movement of human beings and then they become able to imitate their voice. Between 1865 to 1971 parrot won an award of the most talkative bird. They are mostly found in tropical areas, a large number of them found in Africa, Asia and South America. Normally they eat fruits and vegetables. They are green in color. They have sharp and pointed beaks and have wings. They differ in length from 15cms to 90cms.
Macaw is about 90cms long; it has a long tail and mostly found in South America. While Kea is about 50cms long and is found in New Zealand. Female parrot of all species lays the eggs of white color. A disease named psittacosis is caused because of the virus carried by the parrot.
