Computer is an electronic device which works on set of instructions given by the people using it. As the name suggests computer means a device for computing but now a days the area of the use of the computer has been increased. It has two components- Hardware and Software. Computer has made our day to day life easy. It has various application like it can be used for entertainment purpose or working purpose like computing and storing of the data.
Steps of choosing a computer:
Laptop computer or Desktop computer?
First of all decide whether you need a laptop computer or a desktop computer. If you travels a lot and you want your computer to be used by you at work or on the couch at home then you should go for a laptop computer. If you do not travel too much then it is better to have a desktop computer.
What is the purpose for buying the computer?
It is the most important step of choosing the computer. You should be knowing that why are you buying the computer. What are your needs because different types of computers with different purposes are available in the market with different configurations.

These different types of processors have different speeds. Core to duo 2 is the latest till date. Selection of the processors depends on your usage of the computer. RAM size:
RAM means Random Access Memory. High RAM means high speed. RAM can be from 128 mb to 4 GB. If you are buying computer for normal use them 512 mb RAM is enough and if you are buying computer to play games then you need computer with RAM 1 GB or more depending on the games you are playing. If you are playing heavy games (games more than 2-3 GB size) then you must need minimum pentium IV processor and 1 GB RAM.
You also need high quality graphics and sounds if you are buying computer to play games.
Hard Disk:
Hard disk is for the storage of the data. You should also be knowing that how much data you want ti save. Computers with hard disk upto 320 GB are coming but 80 GB is enough for normal purpose.
What is your budget?
You must select the configuration according to your budget. It is the most important step to buy a computer. Different configurations means different rates. Computer with high configuration will obviously be having more price then the computer with normal configuations. Desktop computers are cheaper than laptop computers. Rates of computers are generally decreasing these days so buying a powerful computer will be a good idea.

You can buy computer either from dealer showrooms or can order online to the company. From dealer you can get some discount and good in home service if you are buying from the company
