How To Get Rid Of Bees?

In most cases, human beings and animals can live with bees, since they are a natural part of our world. In fact, without bees we wouldn’t have some of the most beautiful plants and flowers. If it weren’t for honey bees we wouldn’t be able to enjoy the great honey that we use on bread and in recipes.

So, we have bee experts who have studied this fascinating subject and have come up with ways to safely remove bees from our homes and property. From the beginning, it would be best to remember that bees try to locate their hives in places that seem perfect for them. But these spots may well be just the wrong place for us.

Bees are generally not dangerous to human beings and animals, unless the individual is allergic to bee stings. Even for someone who is not allergic, a large number of stings can cause serious health problems. Usually, we should not consider bees dangerous, except for certain “Africanized” bees that can be deadly. With aggressive bees, it would usually take hundreds of stings to kill a healthy, average size human being.

Still, bees can simply be an annoyance, occupying places around our homes that keep us from doing the things we need to do. For bees that have gathered in and around bird feeders and other yard objects, it may be best to simply remove the object when the bees aren’t around (in cold weather, for example). This will cause the bees to look for another place to locate the hive. This same method can work for bees that seem to be gathering around water, such as a yard pond or bird bath. According to experts, bees need moist places to gather and make honey. In very dry conditions, the bees will seek out locations near water. Emptying the water from the pond, bird bath, tub etc. often causes the bees to move on, just as removing objects as mentioned earlier.

Most of us are aware of bees that gather by the dozens in flowering trees or bushes. This is a very naturally part of life and shouldn’t be considered a dangerous or even annoying situation. In almost every case, these bees are working and are focused on the task of gathering pollen from the flowers. If they are not disturbed, they won’t bother anyone. It certainly isn’t wise to swat at them or strike the tree/bush. This is causing a problem, not curing it.

In many other situations, such as with bees that have built a home in a hollow tree or in the shade of eaves on the home, it may be necessary to call in a bee expert/removal professional. In these cases, the bees have probably been using this space for years and it will be more difficult to get them to relocate. Some adventurous people may try buying protective suits and other equipment. This method should be chosen with care, since there is considerable expense and the chance that you may be creating a dangerous situation. In any bee situation, take care!
