How to Get Rid of Saddlebags?

Extra skin and fat around the waste and buttocks have been given a few different names, with the two most common being saddlebags or thunder thighs on the sides of the rear end, and muffin tops for the extra “material” that hangs over the belt line. As we age and exercise less we develop fatty areas on our bodies that we can only get rid of with specific methods.

Women battle extra fat on the side of the buttocks and a few other places that can’t be removed by wishing and hoping. These unsightly formations won’t disappear with some of the gimmicks and tricks that are widely advertised. Sticking carefully to a diet will work wonders, over time. Since saddlebags are excess fat women will need to cut down on or eliminate greasy, fried foods, sweets, ice cream etc. These fat-producing items should be replaced with vegetables, fruits and other healthy items.

Put it into Motion
SaddlebagsIn addition to significant changes in diet, women who wish to remove saddlebags should start a regular exercise program. But not just any exercise will do. Getting rid of saddlebags requires a consistent aerobic program, one that burns fat. It’s best to start with a few minutes a day and to avoid overdoing exercise at the beginning. The time limits can be increased as time goes on.

A third step toward getting rid of saddlebags and other unwanted fatty areas is mild strength training. This helps slim and firm the body by turning some of those fat areas into muscle that gives a lower profile. All diets and exercise programs should be accompanied by plenty of clean, clear water – several glasses each day. This helps the body get rid of toxic substances and also contributes to overall health of the body’s cells.

Attitude and Patience
One of the factors that many women don’t bring to the process of getting rid of saddlebags is: the correct frame of mind. Losing those extra pounds requires patience and the attitude that it can be done. We mentioned dietary changes earlier but waited until this spot to mention that old cliché – fiber. Yes, this will help the body eliminate more of those unwanted calories and the food material that won’t help you build a slimmer, stronger body.

There’s another kind of fiber, however: moral fiber. You have to strong enough mentally and emotionally to continue diet and exercise over a period of weeks, even months. Look into one of several exercise programs that focus on the lower part of the body then stick to it! You may even have to completely change your eating schedule. Some veterans of weight loss and body shaping say that four or five smaller meals each day are better than two or three large meals. When there is a choice between driving the car or walking a few blocks, choose walking. Again, this means changing life-long habits. But with the right attitude and patience, it can be done.
