How to Get Rid of Straight Hair?
Most people with curly hair like it that way, though some have tried to change it. It seems people with very straight hair don’t like it that way and do whatever they can to put some curl and shape into their locks. A few people celebrate their straight hair and let it grow so it’s more noticeable. It may be a bit extreme to look at this as “getting rid of straight hair” but whatever the words used, there are a few ways to give your hair some curl.
Women have tried a number of different ways to get curly hair, some of them home remedies and others expensive professional methods. Perhaps the first thing a person with straight hair has to decide is this: How much do I want to curl my hair and put give it some of those beautiful waves?
Bouncy, Curly
Many of those with straight hair see models with bouncing locks that seem to have just the right amount of curl and curves. They want to achieve this if there is any way to do it. So, they start with getting a curling iron. But there are curling irons of different sizes that will produce different looks. For example, if you have an iron at least two inches in diameter you are going to have larger waves. The overall shape of your hair will be a bit looser than it would if you used a much smaller curling iron.
You can achieve smaller or softer curls too. But you’ll have to work with very small sections of hair to get this effect. After making the curl it’s best to clip the curls to your head to hold them in place. You can take the pins or clips out once your locks are completely cooled off. It’s possible to get rid of your straight hair by creating very tight little curls or huge, in-their-face curls.
Beyond the Iron
In addition to using the popular curling iron techniques, you may want to buy some commercial products that will help put some shape into that head of straight hair. It may be best to avoid substances that damage hair, such as alcohol-based items and heavy waxes. If you are going to use products that are strong enough to produce curl and shape in very straight hair, make sure you use them in moderation.
When it comes right down to it, it’s important to use the right shampoos and conditioners after any curling and shaping. Some products tend to take the body and curl out of hair rather than helping to preserve these attributes. So when you pick up the curling iron and/or apply some of those “miracle” products, do so with a plan and with the idea that, when your hair is naturally straight it’s going to take some work and constant attention to make it look different. Finally, make sure you don’t cause permanent damage to your hair and scalp with aggressive hair-changing methods.
