How to Get Rid of Under Eye Circles?
Just about everyone you know has dark circles under their eyes at one time or another. Some people get these dark circles at a relatively young age and they never go away. This condition develops from lack of sleep, anxiety or simply because we are getting older. Temporary dark circles might develop after a late night of drinking and dancing. Dark circles may be a “gift” from your ancestors. Some families just seem to be prone to this condition.
Fortunately, there are ways to deal with dark circles under our eyes without taking serious, costly steps like laser treatment or surgery. You can prevent some or all dark circles under the eyes by drinking plenty of water. These circles sometimes develop after drinking alcoholic beverages because these drinks cause dehydration. If you avoid caffeinated drinks and alcohol you might be able to reduce the dark circles.
If your diet is lacking in some needed nutrients your body might react in a number of ways. Under eye circles are just one of these reactions. You should also do what you can to add an hour or more of sleep to your schedule. Lack of rest is a common cause of these circles.
It’s Natural
Dark circles under our eyes may be a natural reaction to something we are doing or something we are not doing. The tendency to develop these circles may be a natural trait inherited from earlier generations. Fortunately there are also some natural ways to get rid of undereye circles or at least reduce the color contrast a little.
You might want to start with a standard moisturizing lotion or cream. This can help return the skin to its normal state and may reduce the color and puffiness a bit. Talk to your pharmacist or beauty specialist about products that might be best for this purpose. You can also have success with a procedure that cools the skin around the eyes. A third method you might want to try involves gentle massage of the dark area. This helps stimulate blood circulation and promotes healing of the affected area.
Here are some specific ideas that fit into one of these three categories: cucumber slices that have been cooled in the refrigerator can work wonders for those puffy, tired eyes; if you decide to massage, use a natural oil (almond, peanut); tea bags soaked in cold water for a few minutes can be placed on the closed eyes to cool the area and reduce puffiness; cotton balls dipped in rose water or tomato juice can be dabbed onto the affected area for a minute or two. In addition, you should probably add some Vitamin C and/or Vitamin E to your diet.
Finally, shop carefully for the correct skin treatments and cosmetics that will help with undereye circles. You can use lotions and creams to reduce color and puffiness in combination with some natural cosmetics that will cover the dark area while it is healing. Get some rest!
