Where Is Cypress City?
Cypress is a small suburban city located in north western Orange County, California, to the east of the San Gabriel River Highway (605) in the United States. The city is approximately 21 kilometers north of the Bolsa Chica State Beach. The nearest airport is Long Beach Airport.

Historical records suggest that the area was once home to a native Indian tribe called the Gabrielinos. The region was lush and food was abundant. Then Christopher Columbus discovered the Americas and the first Spaniards came into the Cypress region in July, 1769. The Spanish government decided to give the newly discovered land to its soldiers and a piece of 300,000 acres, what is now modern Cypress, was awarded to an old line officer Manuel Nieto. After his death, his sons divided the land among themselves and since then, the estate has passed through many hands. The last years of the 19th century were marked by explorers coming to California in search of gold and because of this real estate prices zoomed up the prices in Cypress. The city has developed like a typical city since the gold rush.
The area of the city is 17.1 square kilometers and the weather is pleasant throughout the year. The population of the city is around 50,000 and 65.6% of the population is White. This is followed by the Asians, who form the next biggest ethnic group comprising 20.8% of the total population in the city. The famous golfer, Tiger Woods, also comes from the city.
