Why India Is Called A Sub-Continent?

IndiaA landmass is named a subcontinent if it geographically and politically distanced from the rest of the continent. The same definition applies to South Asia. That is why it is called a subcontinent and because India is the largest nation in South Asia that is why the South Asian subcontinent is also called the Indian subcontinent.
