Chainsaw Man Part 2 Announces Release Date

Tatsuki Fujimoto’s thrilling mayhem adventure manga, Chainsaw Man, ended with its first part in 2020. But shortly after the manga went on a hiatus, it did confirm that a Chainsaw Man part 2 will be released sometime in the future. Today the release date has finally been confirmed for Chainsaw Man part 2 by the Shōnen Jump Twitter account as 13th July, 2022.

What’s Chainsaw Man About?

Devils are entities born from negative human emotions. Their manifestations can form a contract with humans, providing the human race with powers which are unobtainable through normal means. So to combat such gruesome foes, who use their devil powers for the worse, are Devil-Hunters like our boy Denji.

Denji wasn’t always a Devil-Hunter though, he used to worked under the despicable Yakuza of Japan as atonement for debts his father left behind. Denji eventually met Pochita, a devil whose the incarnation of the fear of Chainsaws! While on a job for the Yakuza, Denji miserably dies. But his trusted steed Pochita, the original Chainsaw Man, becomes his heart. This revives Denji as the newest iteration of The Devil that Devils fear the most, the Chainsaw Man.

It was announced about a year ago that Studio MAPPA, the animators of Jujutsu Kaisen and Dorohedoro, will be bringing Chainsaw Man’s manga to life. This news instantly broke the internet as the Chainsaw Man manga has an astounding rating of 8.72 on MyAnimeList, earning it the rank of 45th best manga to have been serialised.

When Tatsuki Fujimoto was asked about how he felt leaving the anime adaptation to Studio MAPPA, he had this to say,

Chainsaw Man is like a copycat of Dorohedoro and Jujutsu Kaisen, and the studio of Dorohedoro and Jujutsu Kaisen will produce its anime!? I have nothing to say! Please do it!!.

Chainsaw Man Part 1

The first part of the acclaimed Chainsaw Man manga was serialised in Shueisha’s Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine from December 3, 2018, to December 14, 2020. Whereas a change is noted with Chainsaw Man Part 2, which is set to be serialized in Shueisha’s Shōnen Jump+. This change, Tatsuki stated, was because he felt there was more freedom in the Jump+ as some of his rough drafts seemed to be rejected in the Shōnen Jump.

A total of 97 chapters are published as of this moment about Chainsaw Man, which have since been collected and arranged into 11 volumes.
