Earlier this evening at the Anime Expo, Studio Bind revealed the trailer for Mushoku Tensei season 2. This was a bamboozling announcement for fans as they didn’t expect a reveal so early. Well Mushoku Tensei has been on a role as of late, so this was pretty much inevitable.
The “Isekai” anime has stirred up quite a lot of attention due to its unique take. The series originally began as a light novel written by Rifujin na Magonote, and published by Seven Seas Entertainment. With the trailer now officially released, here’s what we know so far.
Mushoku Tensei Season 2 Trailer
If you didn’t know then the Anime Expo 2022 is being held from 1-4 July. Many announcements have been happening since, such as news about the Solo Leveling anime, and Trigun Stampede.
The first trailer for the sequel season was also revealed at the Anime Expo as well;

The first season of Mushoku Tensei aired in two cours. The pioneer episode was released in January, 2021, whereas the last episode of the second cour released in December of the same year. Studio Bind had animated the Mushoku Tensei Light Novel under the direction of Manabu Okamoto. An OVA, “Eris the Goblin Slayer“, featuring a major supporting character (Eris) was released in March 2022.
Mushoku Tensei Season 2 Release Date
The trailer revealed that the Mushoku Tensei second season release date is set for 2023. We can expect a Summer 2023, or Spring 2023 slate window. Furthermore, it is implied that the second season will also arrive in two cours. This could lead to the anime being aired across the span of 2023, as well as 2024.

That being when Eris, accompanied by Ghislaine, left Rudeus behind so that she may grow stronger and prevent any harm from befalling them again. With Ruijerd gone to take revenge against Laplace for the atrocities he committed against the Superd tribe, Rudeus is left to venture on his own.

Simply put, Yes. The light novel gains quite some momentum here, and be sure to see new mages. The mystery surrounding Orsted, the Dragon God, will also be unveiled as well. If you’ve watched Mushoku Tensei season 1, you probably know about the emphasis it puts when it comes to world building.
