Netflix Drops the First Teaser Trailer for Arnold Schwarzenegger’s ‘FUBAR’

It’s been a couple of days since Netflix shared a sneak peek of its highly anticipated spy-adventure TV show, Fucked Up Beyond All Repair/Recognition, initialized as FUBAR.

News has it that this is Arnold’s first time starring in a scripted television show since the pop culture films Terminator, True Lies, Predator, and Commando.

FUBAR was announced to be under development as an untitled spy project starring Schwarzenegger in August 2020. Netflix acquired the rights to the series in November 2020, ordering eight episodes by May 2021. FUBAR started filming in Antwerp, Belgium, from April 2022 until September 2022 and is anticipated to premiere in 2023.

What’s the Storyline of Netflix’s FUBAR?

In FUBAR, Schwarzenegger stars as a CIA agent Luke alongside his daughter Emma starring Monica Barbaro, but each has kept their engagement in the field hidden from the other, creating a life of lies.

Upon discovering each other’s secrets, Luke and Emma are forced to combine efforts at work while battling a series of father-daughter issues alongside other family problems.

FUBAR presents the storyline through a blend of comedic and fictional scenes.

What Does the Teaser Trailer Showcase?

FUBAR’s first teaser trailer is short (24 seconds) and thus doesn’t have much to tell about the upcoming show.

It, however, delivers a grand welcome back for Schwarzenegger as he lits a cigar and drives away in a motorbike and later a car, saying, “I’m back, baby.

The teaser ends with a getting-along scene between Schwarzenegger’s Luke and Fortune Feimster who plays Roo.

Who Are the Show’s Creators?

FUBAR is a co-project of talented creators, producers, and production companies. Nick Santora leads the team as the series’ creator alongside Phil Abraham, Holly Dale, Bill Bost, Dana Goldberg, David Ellison, Schwarzenegger, Adam Higgs, and Scott Sullivan as the chief producers.

Skydance Television and Blackjack Films are the production companies behind FUBAR.

Who Joins Schwarzenegger in the Cast?

Alongside Schwarzenegger (Luke), Monica Barbaro, Andy Buckley, Aparna Brielle, Jay Baruchel, and Milan Carter join the casting team as Emma, Donnie, Tina, Carter, and Barry, respectively.

Other actors are Travis Van Winkle (Aldon), Fabiana Udenio (Tally), Gabriel Luna (Boro), Barbara E. Harris (Dot), and Fortune Feimster (Ruth/Roo).

Season one of FUBAR lands on May 25th 2023 as revealed by Netflix’s Latinoamérica Twitter Channel.

Schwarzenegger also shared the teaser trailer via his verified Twitter account alongside a caption, “I’m back.”, which has gained 59.7K likes, 4.3M views, and 7.09K retweets in just two days.
