The Promised Neverland Season 3 Release Date, Trailer, News & More! https://www.thegeminigeek.com/the-promised-neverland-season-3-release-date-news/ https://www.thegeminigeek.com/the-promised-neverland-season-3-release-date-news/#respond Tue, 26 Jul 2022 15:55:47 +0000 https://scifiscoop.com/?p=12606 After a rather unappealing ending to the previous season fans are worried if they’ll get a third season of The Promised Neverland. Most of who watched the second season were left in shock when Studio CloverWorks skipped more than a hundred chapters. The ending was a literal slideshow of the remaining arcs of the manga. This led to much harsh reception. All in all there still remains a vast number of people really hoping for The Promised Neverland season 3 to happen, and potentially justify the rather unexpected ending to season 2.

Yakusoku no Nebārando, better known as The Promised Neverland, is a manga series written by Kaiu Shirai and illustrated by Posuka Demizu. It began publication back in 2016 as a part of Shueisha’s Weekly Shōnen Jump. This lasted till June 2020 when the manga finally finished with 181 chapters, later compiled into 20 volumes. The manga received wide praise for its thrilling plot, achieving a rating of 8.19 on MyAnimeList. This soon led the manga to be adapted into an anime by CloverWorks. So if the manga is so good why are fans worried if they’ll ever get a third season of The Promised Neverland? We’ll explain that in this article.

The Promised Neverland Season 2: An Unforseen Mayhem

The Promised Neverland Season 3 release date

The first season was amazing from the stunning visuals to the engaging story, but that isn’t where things turned for the worst. The first season had higher views, and better ratings than the manga. Fans were anxiously awaiting a continuation by Studio CloverWorks. Thus came 2021 when The Promised Neverland Season 2 was announced, and then released in the Winter of the same year.

The season airs

The Promised Neverland Season 3 release date

Excitement was in the air, and eyes were glued weekly to the screen. The second season kicked off with Emma, Ray, and the children finally escaping the sanctuary once known to them, Grace Field House. With the loss of Norman still aching them, Emma and Ray stay strong and push forward for the betterment of the group.

Soon, Things turn out to be way sinister then they could’ve ever expected. The outside world is a mess; with unspeakable threats luring about, and worse, barely any recourses available to survive on.

Where it went downhill

From here the story continued much like in the manga. With continuing episodes though, much of the plot was seen to be skipped over. This led many crucial instances in the anime to receive no build-up. Much of the anime was rushed with the story being laid out bluntly.

The Promised Neverland Season 3 release date

But the major gut-wrenching moment came in the last episode. When CloverWorks fast forwarded about 2 years of chapters in under ten minutes! This had the fandom burst into an absolute frenzy. They started review bombing the season on various sites and CloverWorks received a large amount of negative response. Now, the question still looms around as to whether The Promised Neverland season 3 is a possibility.

The Promised Neverland Season 3

The Promised Neverland Season 3 release date

As you may have already deduced by the above information, there hasn’t been an official statement regarding the confirmation of a third season. To be honest, I’m fairly certain that at least for a few years a new season won’t be made.

The second season disappointed immeasurably, and that has left the studio wanting to not pick it up again. Though we can never say for certain who messed that season up, was that the creative team, or maybe Shirai wanted the anime to be like that, but we can still hope that a day might come when a season three might be announced. At the earliest we can expect season 3 to debut in 2025.

It’s also very likely that after such a major hiccup, CloverWorks or some other studio could reboot the anime. As like the case with Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood.

The Promised Neverland Season 3 Trailer

You guessed it again, there’s no trailer as of yet. This is due to the series having such negative feed back at the moment. If a trailer for the third season does arrive though, it’ll most probably show the sped up parts seen in the last episode of season 2. That will hopefully be a redemption arc for the studio.

The Promised Neverland Season 3 Release Date

There’s no definitive release date for The Promised Neverland season 3. An educated speculation does lead me to believe that if an announcement were to happen it’ll most likely be so in 2024. And this too will be at the earliest. It’ll take sometime before the current wave of negativity surrounding the anime dies down. If you’re in the mood of more Neverland then I recommend you to check out the manga, and live out the full experience.

What Do Fans Say About The Promised Neverland Season 3

You’ll be surprised to read what different takes people have for the future of the series. One user wanted a remake of season 2 (don’t we all), Followed by a season 3. While others had this to say.

Whereas others said that saying “season 2 broke my heart was an understatement”!

This one tweet specifically stood out most. That’s due to comparing season 2 of The Promised Neverland with the second season of The Rising of the Shield Hero, which was an utter disaster piece as well.

What do you think of The Promised Neverland season 2, and would you want a season 3?

When Is Baki Hanma: Son of Ogre Season 2 Coming Out? Everything We Know So Far https://www.thegeminigeek.com/baki-hanma-son-of-ogre-season-2-news-and-updates/ https://www.thegeminigeek.com/baki-hanma-son-of-ogre-season-2-news-and-updates/#respond Sun, 24 Jul 2022 10:02:55 +0000 https://scifiscoop.com/?p=12591 Better known as Baki the Grappler, the series began publication back in October, 1991. Since then it has become widely admired in the martial arts world, and that being the reason why the series is 147 volumes long! This spreads out to more than 1200 chapters written and illustrated by Keisuke Itagaki over the course of three decades.

The manga released into several part; Grappler Baki (42 volumes), Baki (31 volumes), Baki Hanma (37 volumes), Baki-Dou (22 volumes), and Bakidou (13 volumes). Four seasons have been animated so far, and a fifth one titled Baki Hanma: Son of Ogre Season 2 is scheduled to be released soon on Netflix. We’ll cover all the recent updates surrounding the anime down below.

What’s the Plot of Baki Hanma: Son of Ogre Season 2?

The fifth season is going to adapt straight from the third part of the manga ‘Baki Hanma’ listed above. The anime has also been given the name Son of Ogre as that’s what it’ll be about, Baki’s journey to train himself for his inevitable encounter against his father- Yujiro Hanma.

Source: Baki Hanma Son of Ogre

If you watched the previous season about how Baki willingly went to prison, you’ll know how devastating of an opponent Baki can be. Baki explicitly went inside the home field of the notorious ‘Mr. Unchained’, Biscuit Olivia. Baki ultimately humiliated Olivia- in front of his beloved Maria. Olivia who was supposedly referred to as one of the strongest men alive was overpowered by a young Baki.

As for the second season of Baki Hanma: Son of Ogre, it’ll be focussing on a peculiar caveman called ‘Pickle’ who was shown near the end of the last episode. A small Spoiler Alert, Pickle is a 200 Million year old caveman who has been in stasis since the meteorites sent the Jurassic period to extinction. He’s also stated to be as strong as Yujiro Hanma! Rest easy as the next season will hold no punches back.

Baki Hanma: Son of Ogre Season 2 Trailer

A promo trailer for Baki Hanma: Son of Ogre season 2 was revealed by Netflix showcasing Pickle, Baki, Yujiro, and others. TMS Entertainment is set to animate the series yet again, and they did a remarkable job.

Baki Hanma: Son of Ogre Season 2 Release Date

Netflix has provided no official update regarding the release date for the second season of Baki Hanma. Though the service is known to release their anime after a couple of months. Already three months have passed since we received the last promo, we expect a new trailer with the release date to arrive soon. Our guess is that the series will arrive in January 2023, but take this with a pinch of salt.

On a side note, Thor: Love and Thunder has been a topic of much discussion lately.

Blood Lad Season 2: What are the Possibilities of its Release Date in 2022 https://www.thegeminigeek.com/blood-lad-season-2-what-are-the-possibilities-of-its-release-date-in-2022/ https://www.thegeminigeek.com/blood-lad-season-2-what-are-the-possibilities-of-its-release-date-in-2022/#respond Sun, 24 Jul 2022 10:02:49 +0000 https://scifiscoop.com/?p=12575 Vampires have definitely been in season lately, and what better anime would their be to gossip about than Blood Lad. The enticing dark comedy is set in a fantasy world filled with demonic beings, though unexpectedly most of them aren’t hostile. Blood Lad, better known in Japanese as ‘Buraddo Raddo’, is written and illustrated by Yuuki Kodama. The manga started serialisation in the Young Ace Magazine on September 4, 2009. This continued on till September 3, 2016, when the manga’s eighty-fifth and final chapter released. The chapters were later on compiled into 17 Tankōbon volumes.

Its quirky nature eventually led it to be greenlit for an anime adaptation. Studio Brain’s Base animated the series, and the first episode was released in the Summer of 2013. The anime comprised of 10 episodes, receiving much praise for the visuals and the humorous appeal of the characters.

The series definitely seemed a success, with eye-catching acclaim and soaring ratings, but who could’ve guessed that nine years later there would still be no second season. Today we’ll be discussing all the updates regarding Blood Lad season 2 release date, and the possibility of it airing in 2022.

Is There Any Hope for a Blood Season 2 Release Date in 2022

Blood Lad Season 2
Source: Studio Brain’s Base

As of 2016, the manga series had sold over 2 million copies. Even more so amazing is the fact that there was a spin-off titled ‘Bloody Brat’ developed as well. Blood Lad has got it all, the numbers and the quality. Brain’s Base also did a very well job of adapting the series, but the question begs to differ, why wasn’t there a season 2 of the series if it was so good?

Simply put, though the anime had well enough ratings and praise, it couldn’t inspire the directors to make the studio pursue the project further. This eventually led the studio to pick up other projects. There is still a second theory that not enough demand could be the case, but that seems like an unlikely case.

Will Blood lad have a Season 2?

Blood Lad Season 2
Source: Blood Lad

There is no official word from the producers and directors as of yet. This leads us to believe for now that the anime has a ‘shelved’ status. Fans have been rigorously asking questions for a hopeful response but to no luck.

It is very unlikely that Blood Lad season 2 will have its release date in 2022 due to their being no statements issues by the studio.

Did Blood Lad get Cancelled?

The manga has already been completed, and it spans 17 volumes. Although as for the anime, its first season aired in 2013, and since there has been no word of a sequel. The anime hasn’t definitely been cancelled, forgotten seems more appropriate. Until any further statement is issued by the studio, we can’t expect it to be cancelled.

There still remains hope for Blood Lad to return as many other long shelved anime like Classroom of the Elite have received a second season. So hope will always remain a factor in discussing the possibility of a sequel season.

What is the Story of Blood Lad?

Staz Charlie Blood is your average hormonal teenager but there’s one thing about him, he’s rumoured to be the tyrant vampire ruler of the Demon World. Well, it turns out he’s an Otaku obsessed with anime, manga, and video games. With no interest in ruling over others or drinking blood of humans, Staz spends most of his days locked up watching Dragon Ball episodes.

As destiny would have it, Fuyumi Yanagi accidentally enters a portal tied to the Demon World. Her encounter with Staz has him excited, but a dreadful attack on Staz’s territory results in Fuyumi’s untimely death. Guess what, Fuyumi is now a spooky ghost! Staz vows to get Fuyumi’s spirit back into her body, this being a hoax for him wanting to visit the Human world and get more manga.

You’ll be adventuring with the humorous party of Staz, Fuyumi, a sorceress called Bell, and a half werewolf called Wolf? Free up your schedule as you’ll be embarking on a hearty unique trip featuring a desperate Otaku.

Blood Lad Ratings

Blood Lad Season 2
Source: Studio Brain’s Base

The anime has had an impressive run so far, achieving a rating of 7.3/10 in MyAnimeList. It was also well received on sites like IMDb with a rating of 7.1/10, and on Anime News Network with 7.4/10.

A pretty impressive haul which further makes it hard to believe there isn’t a second season of Blood Lad yet.

Should I Watch Blood Lad?

Most definitely. The plot is very unique and engaging, the comedy tends to viewers very well and the animation boosts that feeling up manifold. If you seem to be in the mood for a light hearted comedy, but with some fast paced action, and punchy visuals, this series will surely deliver on every level.

But enough from us, here’s what fans are saying about a Blood Lad season 2.

When Will My Hero Academia Manga End According To Kōhei Horikoshi https://www.thegeminigeek.com/when-will-my-hero-academia-manga-end-kohei-horikoshi/ https://www.thegeminigeek.com/when-will-my-hero-academia-manga-end-kohei-horikoshi/#respond Thu, 21 Jul 2022 11:34:09 +0000 https://scifiscoop.com/?p=12512 Anticipation is building up as the sixth season of My Hero Academia approaches this October. Most definitely it has been on a role since its inception. A remarkable run, wouldn’t you say? But some may wonder how long the superhero anime might still go on for. That’s what we’ll be answering today in this article, so stick around as we give you all the latest updates!

What are Kōhei Horikoshi’s thoughts on My Hero Academia coming to an end?

The long time running manga centred around superheroes has no doubt been a fan favourite. But creator Kōhei Horikoshi had shockingly announced last year he was planning on ending the series. On one end fans were sad as My Hero Academia had become a major addition to the anime industry, whereas others understood about the author moving onto newer projects, maybe even a sequel.

When will my hero Academia manga end
Source: My Hero Academia

Izuku Midorya A.K.A Deku

Speaking of Deku, here’s a list of the best green haired anime characters to date!Horikoshi had much to say about it when asked,

“If things progress smoothly, the original My Hero Academia manga will reach its goal, for instance, in just about a year. If things do not go smoothly, I think at next year’s Jump Festa, I’ll have Mr. Yamashita (Deku’s Voice Actor) read the same statement.”

He further added his thoughts on how he could see the series approaching its destination,

“I feel like I can finally see the goal in sight. It’s a rather strange feeling getting to this point. In the past, I would just be drawing without a single care, but now I wonder just how many more times can I draw these characters? Change is scary as you grow older. Well, I really shouldn’t dwell on that! Until next volume then!”

If you’re curious about what else Horikoshi has to say, you can check out his Twitter. Ever wonder how tall the characters are? Well, here you go.

So now it’s time to answer that question nagging you since the beginning of the article.

When will My Hero Academia manga end?

The manga will end after the current War Arc, which is the final arc of the manga. You expect it to conclude near Chapter 400. So that’s that, the manga will come to an end in about a year or so. But that doesn’t eliminate the possibility of a continuation somewhere down the line.

When will my hero Academia end
Source: My Hero Academia

The manga started publication during 2014 in the Weekly Shōnen Jump, and has since been licensed by Viz Media for a digital English release. Apart from the main series there have been multiple spin-offs, such as My Hero Academia: Smash!!, And My Hero Academia: Vigilantes. And oh boy, each of them has over 100 chapters. That’s more than what most main series have, like Chainsaw Man Part 1 had only 97 chapters!

It seems fair to say that the lore of My Hero Academia is very massive. So that might just be the reason which suggests the time for moving in has approached eight years later. Anime fans can take a sigh of relief as after My Hero Academia season six there will surely be at least two more season. A movie adaptation also seems likely. The story of the iconic clash between All Might and All For One still remains to be shown as well, but more on that later.

The sixth season is coming out in October, but it isn’t the biggest anime release of the month. That’s because Mob Psycho 100 III, Chainsaw Man, Blue Lock, and more are releasing in October as well!

Classic hits like Overlord, and The Devil Is a Part-Timer! have returned with their sequel seasons, causing fandoms to explode on twitter. But that’s not all what 2022 has in store. Arguably October will be the most hyped up month for anime releases.

Chainsaw Man, My Hero Academia season 6, are just some of the insane anime scheduled for the fall 2022 line-up. This article will state the most exhilarating releases for which you’ll be shivering with excitement.

Mob Psycho 100 III

Mob Psycho 100 III Official Poster

The quirky anime by the creator of One Punch Man, Mob Psycho 100 returns with its third season in October. It’ll continue the journey of Mob, and Reigen as they navigate through their lives. The story will pick right up after the events concerning Claw, an organisation of Espers led by an extremely powerful tyrant, Suzuki Toichiro.

The second season of Mob Psycho 100 received much praise for its animation, delightful take on slice of life, and humorous tone. It received a rating of 8.81 on MyAnimeList, ranking at the 28th spot. Studio Bones animated the second season in 2019, and hype has been rapidly building up since then. Though fans knew a 100 days before the third season’s announcement, owing to the cryptic messages being posted by the official Twitter account of Mob Psycho. You can read more about that here.

The eccentric Soul Reaper Ichigo Kurasaki finally returns, and this time the animation quality is off the roof. Studio Pierrot has revealed trailers showcasing the character designs, which look stunning. Be sure to check up on Bleach when it returns during the first week of October.

Chainsaw Man

The gory, ghastly, and gruesome trek about a part-time devil hunter, Denji, whose able to turn into a chainsaw wielding machine of mayhem is also rumoured to air in October. We say this with a bit of doubt as December might be a possible air date as well, but that just seems too far off as Studio MAPPA has reminded us again and again that the anime will surely release this year.

The manga has been an exhilarating journey for readers, so thrilling in fact, that a sequel manga “Chainsaw Man Part 2” by Tatsuki Fujimoto has already been released. The release date may be in speculation but what we can say with certainty is that Chainsaw Man will be taking over the anime fandoms by storm through its bloody fight scenes, edgy humour, and splendidly superior animation.

Spy x Family Part 2

The Forgers are Headed Straight for You in Part 2 of Spy x Family

The recent hit spy drama anime by Studio Wit and Studio CloverWorks, Spy x Family has successfully captured the hearts of viewers. Some say that’s partly because anime viewers don’t know what a loving family is like, Ouch. But we all know it’s because of the beautiful animation, delightful story and vibrant characters, especially everyone’s darling little Anya Forger.

Spy x Family will continue its most watched anime spree with a Part 2 of the first season officially set for October, 2022. The second week of October is our likely guess at this point in time, but keep checking in on scifiscoop because we’ll let you know if any solid date is announced.

My Hero Academia Season 6

My Hero Academia’s Sixth Season

Izuku Midorya’s saga of surpassing All Might, and becoming the next symbol of peace will continue in the sixth season of My Hero Academia. In the end of season five, we witnessed how terrifying the League of Villains truly is. Shivers have since resonated through fans. The next season is stated to heavily influence the plot as the relationship between Shigaraki and Midorya approaches its climax.

Studio Bones has been hard at work animating the upcoming continuation of the franchise. After the recent release of the third film instalment, World Heroes Mission, the superhero fantasy created by Kōhei Horikoshi is returning in October 2022 to captivate fans yet again. A new trailer for the season has already been released, and my oh my, on this one they surely went Plus Ultra!

Blue Lock

A Shot of Yoichi Featured in the First Trailer for the Anime Adaptation

Muneyuki Kaneshiro and Yusuke Nomura’s acclaimed soccer manga is getting an anime of its own in October, 2022. Impressively, the manga has just reached the milestone of having 10 million volumes in circulation. Often compared to all time greats like Haikyu!!, Inazuma Eleven, and Slam Dunk, Blue Lock is definitely a strong contender for the top three viewership spots in the Fall anime line-up.

You’ll be witnessing Yoichi Isagi, a prominent striker, enrol in project Blue Lock. The project is a tournament like competition where 300 elite soccer strikers will be pitted against each other. The victor will go on to play as Japan’s main goal scorer in the next FIFA world cup. Thus, we’ll embark on a timeless athletic journey along side Yoichi. Get yourself a set of shorts because it is imminent that you’ll be left wanting play soccer too after the anime releases.

High School DxD Season 5

October Anime
Steamy.

This is probably my most anticipated anime in this list, and if you’ve watched Highschool DxD before, you’ll definitely know why. Issei Hyodo’s legendary harem saga continues in this sequel season. We’ll finally get to see his relationship develop deeper than ever with Rias, and Akeno. The steamy fantasy of the devil dragon possessed harem king will surely leave fans wanting more, like it always does.

Highschool DxD, which originally started off as a light novel, is written by Ichiei Ishibumi and illustrated by Miyama-Zero. The series has received much deserved praise for visuals, characters, and especially the plot over the years. Often referred to as having a pretty engagingly impressive plot for a harem fantasy anime. I couldn’t recommend watching Highschool DxD enough if you haven’t, so be sure to keep an eye out for it in October 2022.

Conclusion

Black Clover Season 5 Release Date, Movie Set for 2023 https://www.thegeminigeek.com/black-clover-season-5-release-date/ https://www.thegeminigeek.com/black-clover-season-5-release-date/#respond Fri, 01 Jul 2022 21:54:33 +0000 https://scifiscoop.com/?p=12129 You’ve heard about Black Clover right? The fantasy anime set in the magical land of the Clover Kingdom, which is home to mages of all sorts. Well, before our boisterous Asta claimed the hearts of millions, his story wasn’t that acclaimed at all. Yup, Black Clover initially made its anime debut in 2017, but it wasn’t till the Royal Knights Arc that the series blew the internet.

After 170 episodes releasing weekly for almost four years, the series went on a break as the anime had caught up with the manga. To be honest, with no more new Black Clover episodes coming out, every week has felt incomplete since. Though I’m every dark age, hope looms somewhere, and for us that can be seen in the upcoming Black Clover Season 5, as well as the feature film.

Black Clover Season 5 Release Date

Black Clover Season 5

The last episode of the eccentric series written and illustrated by Yūki Tabata aired on 30 March, 2021. Since then a movie has been officially confirmed, but we’ll present the facts surrounding Black Clover Season 5 to you;

Black Clover Season 5 Release Date

The fifth season of the franchise is expected to debut in late 2023, or early 2024. This is the most educated speculation as the movie is coming out sometime early 2023.

Black Clover Season 5 Release Date

It’ll take a while for the majority to watch the Black Clover Movie outside Japan, which further bolsters the expected early 2024 release date.

Black Clover Season 5 Cast & Characters

As of yet no changings have been reported about the Black Clover cast. And as expected with a series of this scale, most of the original characters will return. So hope to see Asta, Yuno, Noelle, Yami, Julias, and everyone else to return for the fifth season.

Black Clover Movie

Black Clover Movie 2023

The upcoming film is supposed to directly pick up where the anime series left off, that’s around the same point as when Captain Yami of the Black Bulls had been kidnapped by Zenon. Yami, who possesses dark magic, is supposedly the key for breaking the seal that prevents devils from entering the kingdoms. Thus, with the Dark Triad still alive and ready to unleash innumerable atrocities, the fate of the world looks grim.

If you seriously think that’ll happen then you’ve got another thing coming, the Black Bulls. As long as Asta and his team are alive, they’ll never stop trying to save their captain, no matter how much of a dead beat he is. Expect to see Yuno, as well as the other team Captains as well.

A visual was released for the film, and it does look stunning. Knowing how action-packed Black Clover is, better to prepare yourself for jaw dropping sequences.

What If…? Season 2: Release Date, Episodes, and Updates https://www.thegeminigeek.com/what-if-season-2-release-date-episodes-and-updates/ https://www.thegeminigeek.com/what-if-season-2-release-date-episodes-and-updates/#respond Mon, 27 Jun 2022 12:03:09 +0000 https://scifiscoop.com/?p=12000 What If…? was the latest entry into Marvel’s Phase IV line-up on Disney+. The series was stated to be set inside the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and so many of the film actors had voiced there own characters in this season as well. Currently, What If season 1 is the only animated show to be developed by Marvel Studios.

When’s What If Season 2 Coming Out?

The show was greenlit in 2018, which was soon flowed by an official announcement in April, 2019. Information was revealed about the plot, that stated the series is going to be an anthology series about different events in the Marvel Universe, and what would happen if they had unfolded differently. The concept of the multiverse was set in motion with this series, and pivotal points in the official MCU were alternated, which led to completely different universes.

What If...? season 2

Surprisingly, What If…? season 2 had been confirmed years back to be in development. The scripts had already been written, but as we know animation takes time, so that is why the studio hasn’t released more information as of yet.

At the moment late 2022 is somewhat confirmed to be when the next season of the series airs on Disney+.

How Many Episodes Will the Second Season Have?

The first season of What If…? was originally planned to be a ten-episode series, but due to the Covid-19 pandemic, delays in production led the series to include nine episodes only. The tenth episode, featuring Gamora and a Sakaaran Iron Man, was pushed back into the second season.

So one episode has been already confirmed to centre around Gamora and Iron Man from the last episode of season one. Totalling to nine episodes in this season as well.

Who Will be back in What If Season 2?

Some news was revealed that this season will further develop the trust between The Watcher and Captain Carter. Also some recurring characters include Gamora, and Iron Man. Though not much is known about the cast, most fans are hoping to see the following characters;

The Inhumans

Marvel's Inhumans

Black Bolt was finally revealed in Doctor Strange: In the Multiverse of Madness, and since then, fans are hoping to see him along with his fellow Inhumans in any sort of way possible.

X-Men

Wolverine MCU

Though the likelihood of getting an episode centred around the X-Men seems unlikely as they haven’t been properly introduced into the MCU (except of Charles Xavier), but hope still remains due to the high popularity of characters such as Wolverine, and Magneto.

Deadpool

Deadpool MCU

Well who wouldn’t want to see an un-killable lunatic fight everyone in a second season of What If…?. Still, it seems too good to be true.

6 Anime Series to Look Forward to in July 2022 https://www.thegeminigeek.com/july-2022-anime-to-look-forward-to/ https://www.thegeminigeek.com/july-2022-anime-to-look-forward-to/#respond Sun, 26 Jun 2022 10:26:56 +0000 https://scifiscoop.com/?p=11950 With summer in full swing right now, there’s nothing like kicking back at home, grabbing a snack, and tuning in to them fancy Japanese cartoons.

But with dozens of anime popping out monthly, it can be tough to keep track of it all and to pick which ones suit your interests or which ones you want to risk.

Here are some of the anime you’d wanna keep an eye out for this July! I’ve compiled them in a way that’ll suit a bunch of anime fan types. Whether you prefer shonen, romance, Isekai, or anything in between, you’ve come to the right place.

For the Isekai Anime Lovers:

Uncle from Another World

Uncle from Another World Trailer

Release Date: July 6 (Netflix)

MyAnimeList Manga Rating: 7.69

As per usual, tons of new Isekai anime are coming out this month, but this one especially caught my eye. The show’s premise is about a man who wakes up from a 17-year coma. It turns out that during that coma, his consciousness was actually transferred to a fantasy world where he learned to make use of magical arts.

So now he’ll have to learn and adapt to all the major changes the world went through in the past 17 years with his nephew. All the while still being in control of the magic powers.

From the looks of it, instead of the usual Isekai shows which focus on the other world, this one is centered around what happens when someone actually comes back from the fantasy world. A really unique and fascinating way of depicting this genre.

It’s rare for an Isekai’s plot to be eye-catching due to the sheer number of them constantly being released, so this one’s looking really promising especially for those who have been feeling burnt out on Isekai recently and want something fresher.

For the Sports Anime Enthusiasts:

SHOOT! Goal to the Future

SHOOT! Goal to the Future Trailer

Release Date: July 2 (Crunchyroll)

MyAnimeList Manga Rating: This season is an original/not adapted from anything

This football anime is apparently a continuation of an anime called “Blue Legend Shoot!” which ended in 1994. The manga also ends where the anime did so this season’s plot is an entirely new and original story that’ll pick up where the series left off.

It’ll show some of the characters from the previous series who have now grown up. But the main focus of the show is going to be on a new cast including Hideto Tsuji who attends the previous cast’s high school. The school’s football team has gotten weak and lost all of its former glory. Hideto, who isn’t even interested in the team, meets Atsushi Kamiya, the team’s former captain from the previous series. This sparks a series of events that will lead to greatness.

I admittedly have never seen the original Blue Legend Shoot! Anime, but I’m definitely curious about this one. It has the typical person who doesn’t care about the sport at first but comes to love it trope but hey, don’t fix what isn’t broken right?

For the Shonen/Action Connoisseurs:

RWBY: Ice Queendom

RWBY: Ice Queendom Trailer

Release Date: July 3 (Crunchyroll & RoosterTeeth)

MyAnimeList Manga Rating: 7.17 but the manga isn’t really the source.

This anime recounts Ruby Rose, Weiss Schnee, Blake Belladonna, and Yang Xiao Long’s early days in Beacon Academy while also possibly showing us new stories we haven’t seen in the first RWBY run. Join them with their outrageous weaponry and powers as they train to be hunters and one day face the Grimm and the dark forces that control them in the world of Remnant.

This one’s going to be a little controversial. Like Avatar: The Last Airbender, debates about whether or not to consider RWBY an anime have been going on ever since the show’s conception. One look at RWBY and you can immediately tell the heavy influences anime had in its creation despite not actually being created in Japan.

BUT BUT BUUUTTT

This one actually IS a 100% pure anime. Created by Shaft, the studio responsible for the Monogatari series and Madoka Magica, this show is Japan’s own take on the American series. It’s not exactly a remake or a reboot as RoosterTeeth themselves have made clear, but it’s not exactly a hundred percent the same either.

For the Mystery/Supernaturally Curious:

The Girl From The Other Side

The Girl From The Other Side Trailer

Release Date: July, Specific date not yet announced (Crunchyroll)

MyAnimeList Manga Rating: 8.30

A story about two beings who aren’t supposed to interact with each other. Shiva, a young girl from the Inside finds herself in another realm… the Outside.

Naming senses aside, the Outside is a realm unfit for humans, a realm where deadly creatures live. These dark creatures are supposedly fit only for cursing people. But Shiva comes across a peculiar Outsider called Teacher and the two form an unlikely duo. Not being able to touch each other yet coexisting nonetheless.

This anime movie was actually released this March but for some reason has not gotten a proper English sub/dub until now. This looks and sounds like a really good watch at night or whenever you’re feeling melancholic.

For the Comedy Enjoyers:

Teppen—!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Laughing ’til you Cry

Teppen—!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Laughing ’til you Cry Trailer

Release Date: July 1 (Crunchyroll)

MyAnimeList Manga Rating: N/A

A diehard comedy fan named Sakamoto Yayoi enrolls in Kazuki High School with dreams of one day being a comedian herself. She encounters a childhood friend there who used to do comedy acts with her and even formed a duo with her called “Konamonzu”. They get their act back together and maybe even meet some fresh faces who can help them.

A new anime that’s being adapted from a new manga (came out last year and doesn’t even have a MyAnimeList score yet). This one’s more of a gamble than the other anime on this list but I’m willing to give it the benefit of the doubt.

Nothing screams comedy anime more than an anime about two literal aspiring comedians. But the fact that it actually is about comedy is another risk. This’ll either be a gut-buster or a cringe-fest if they try a little too hard on pushing the comedy. Fingers crossed.

For the Lovesick Romance Fans:

My Stepmom’s Daughter Is My Ex

My Stepmom’s Daughter Is My Ex Trailer

Release Date: July 6 (Crunchyroll)

MyAnimeList Light Novel Rating: 7.65

The title is pretty self-explanatory. The plot of this anime is about Mizuto Irido and Yume Ayai, two ex-lovers who find themselves, for better or worse (probably worse), ending up as step-siblings.

NOW I KNOW WHAT YOU’RE THINKING!

“This sounds like Domestic Girlfriend *presses alt+f4*”

And I can’t blame you, that’s immediately what came to my mind when I first read this anime’s premise. I’m sorry if you liked Domestic na Kanojo, I personally didn’t. I even dropped it. It’s a discussion for another day. Please don’t flame me in the comments.

But anyway, from the reviews I’ve read about the people who’ve read the light novel, this anime actually apparently feels nothing like Domestic Girlfriend. It’s a more wholesome and comedic story, and honestly, from watching the trailer, I agree. I’m willing to give this one a shot as it legitimately looks good. Fingers and toes crossed on My Stepmom’s Daughter Is My Ex.

And if I liked this one, maybe I can finally finish up Domestic Girlfriend and post a comparison or something. We’ll see.

And that’s that. Tons of anime with great potential coming out this month. What upcoming anime this July would you recommend to your fellow anime fans?

Or maybe your friends aren’t anime fans themselves? Well, if you can forgive them, there’s no shortage of ways to convince them to at least give the media artform a try. Here’s 6 reasons why people love anime.
