While the number of psychological thrillers across different streaming platforms is weak, Prime Video ensures to deliver the best shot when given an opportunity.
The streaming platform shared the first teaser trailer of its upcoming project from the genre, Dead Ringers, recently via its main YouTube Channel.
The series is based on David Cronenberg’s 1988 film of the same title. Amazon Prime Video ordered Dead Ringers in August 2020, with Alice Birch as chief producer and head writer. The show started filming in August 2021 in New York City.

What’s the Storyline of Prime Video’s Dead Ringers?
David Cronenberg’s Dead Ringers is inspired by Stewart and Cyril Marcus’ real-life story, following two brothers who lived a life of deception and lies after falling for the same lady. Birch and her crew kept some of the names in the adaptation but slightly twisted the storyline.
Dead Ringers, the TV series, focuses on a pair of identical twins who share everything from lovers to drugs and maintain a healthy bond between themselves. Everything appears to be flowing smoothly, but there will probably be something that will shake the sisters’ bond to keep up with the original storyline.
What Does the Teaser Trailer Have?
Prime Video’s teaser trailer about Dead Ringers doesn’t showcase much about the upcoming series but is a great introduction to the main characters.
It glimpses at a pregnancy and a baby, giving an illusion that parenthood might be the main breaking point for the two sisters.
